KonMari Method™

Using the KonMari Method™, we will organize your home by category. Most people organize one room at a time—the problem with that method is that people seem to get stuck in a cycle of moving things from one room to another. Things never get properly organized and we miss out on understanding what we actually have in our home.

Using the KonMari Method™ we will keep only what brings you joy or is truly needed! The idea is to do this as quickly and completely as possible. While it may sound intimidating, it will become an easy system to follow and as a KonMari Consultant, I’m here to help you navigate it. The beauty in this system is once you do it, you don’t have to re-do it over and over.

This process is called a Tidy Marathon, also know as a Tidy Festival. The five main categories we will declutter are:

1. Clothes

2. Books

3. Papers

4. Komono (miscellany in home)

5. Sentimental

This order allows us to hone your skills at understanding what sparks joy or is truly needed to bring you joy! Clothing is easiest because we interact with it on a daily basis—it is literally closer to our heart. Most people can easily choose an outfit that makes them happy but have a difficult time choosing which kitchen utensils spark joy.

Throughout your Tidy Marathon you will end up literally touching everything you own, down to the smallest items! Seems a bit tedious, right? It is, but I assure you if you complete a Tidy Marathon with me you will learn how to organize yourself and find joy in the things you possess. You will understand and enjoy the “Magic of Tidying Up!”

Folding Basics

In the KonMari Method™, clothes are folded in specific ways to stand upright. This allows us to see everything we own, maximize storage space, and honor each item’s purpose in our lives. It’s an easy way to fold and the visual change alone can bring you joy!

In our sessions, I will teach you how to fold and store your belongings.

You’ll be amazed at the space you can save and how each article of clothing becomes visually appealing in your drawers and spaces.

I love organizing dresser drawers with smaller boxes. You don’t need to break the bank at the Container Store either. Start saving some shoe boxes, smaller boxes or lids to help with storage.
